On May 1, 1009 the North Andover High School participated in the "Day Of Silence". This event was designed to bring awareness to the bullying and violence that directly singles out the gay and lesbian group of children in our schools. Instead of an event that further isolates a group of individuals I believe we should take this opportunity to bring awareness to a program already in place and making great strides: R.A.I.S.E.. This initiative is gaining momentum and bringing great success to "building a community of respect."
